An unnerving display occurred in the Neon Quarters as hundreds of drones, both corporate and civilian, descended from the sky and hovered silently above street level for almost ten minutes. Their lights pulsed in unison, forming cryptic patterns interpreted by some as symbols.
Attempts to override or communicate with the drones failed. “It’s like they were listening to something else, something above us,” said a local tech vendor.
When the event ended, all drones simultaneously powered down and dropped to the ground without causing injuries. Engineers are dismantling the units for clues, but so far no signal or source has been identified.
